Visual Arts
Quote from our recent Ofsted Inspection Report:
“The school’s status as a Visual Arts College has been very effective and the expressive arts curriculum is outstanding, resulting in high standards.”Great emphasis is placed on the acquisition and application of skills in the classroom. Our work is shown to the wider community through exhibitions and community projects. Each year the school has a major exhibition of the artwork produced. The school environment is alive and thriving with all manner of artworks on display throughout the site. The faculty’s community work has involved performances at partner schools, in pensioners clubs and in day centres. We have undertaken projects with two local prisons and have brightened the environments through the introduction of murals and floor games. These have involved us with local artists who have worked alongside the students in the production and management of such projects.
