Welcome to the Sixth Form Centre website!
We do hope that it provides you with an insight into what our Sixth Form has to offer.
We have a long, well-established reputation of achieving excellent academic results in a caring, supportive environment, working in partnership with parents and students. It is a lively, vibrant, stimulating, enriching and challenging Post-16 institution that really does help students develop their personal and academic potential.
With some 80%-85% of our Year 13 students going on into higher education, the structure and systems of the Sixth Form Centre provides a secure ‘half-way’ house between the strictures of GCSE and compulsory education to the greater sense of independence and responsibility of university life.
Not only do we want to provide you with a first-rate education, but help you to develop the qualities and skills that future educational institutions, employers and society itself value.
Through our subject reporting process and our ‘personal tutoring’ programme you will be encouraged to reflect carefully upon your personal development and academic performance and to accept greater responsibility for your individual study programme. It seems to work! Student evaluations confirm that they value the mature atmosphere of the Sixth Form Centre and the encouragement, guidance and support they receive from us.
